Job summary

A human resource management firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an HR Manager to partner with line managers on workforce planning and manage employee relations. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Human Resource Management and at least 3-5 years of HR experience, particularly in the manufacturing & trading sector. Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is required. This role offers the opportunity to drive talent development initiatives and ensure compliance with labor regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing & trading sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in multi-entity HR operations is an advantage.

  • Partner with line managers on workforce planning, role scoping, job descriptions, and candidate assessment.
  • Proactively build and maintain a robust talent pipeline to support current and future hiring needs across the Group and subsidiaries.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement
    • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including grievances, discipline, and employee welfare.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned with the Group’s core values of safety, innovation, collaboration, and integrity.
    • Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
  • Performance Management & Learning Development
    • Coordinate annual performance management and appraisal cycles, providing guidance to Heads of Department on KPI setting and evaluations.
    • Identify organizational and individual training needs, and arrange relevant learning and development programs covering technical, soft skills, and digital competencies.
    • Support career progression initiatives, talent development, and succession planning to strengthen internal capabilities.
  • Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Administration
    • Manage employee benefits administration, including leave, insurance, and welfare programs.
    • Conduct salary benchmarking exercises and provide recommendations to ensure competitive and equitable remuneration structures.
  • HR Policies, Compliance & Industrial Relations
    • Implement, review, and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with the Malaysian Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and other relevant labour laws.
    • Support the management of disciplinary cases, including issuance of warnings and coordination of domestic inquiries where required.
    • Liaise with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and external agencies on HR and industrial relations matters.
  • Government Incentives & Statutory Programs
    • Monitor, assess, and advise on relevant government initiatives, grants, incentives, and subsidy schemes (e.g. HRD Corp, PERKESO, LHDN, MDEC, TalentCorp).
    • Ensure timely application, documentation, and compliance for eligible programs such as training grants, wage subsidies, and tax incentives.
    • Communicate available government schemes to management and employees, ensuring proper utilization and adherence to requirements.
  • HR Operations, Reporting & Digitalization
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.
    • Support HR digital transformation initiatives, including HRMS/HRIS implementation, payroll automation, and performance management systems.
    • Prepare regular HR reports, analytics, and dashboards to support management decision-making.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree / Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing & trading sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in multi-entity HR operations is an advantage.
