RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Realistic and stylized body animation from Motion Capture and Hand Key both humanoid and creatures.
  • Realistic animation of photorealistic characters using motion capture data, with the ability to push and embellish based on artistic direction.
  • Communication and Collaboration with lead team based in North America alongside fellow animators in KL.
  • Work with dev and tech teams to create gameplay mechanics.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong technical abilities using and animating in Autodesk Maya (MotionBuilder is a plus).
  • Knowledge of mocap tools workflows including any animation tools needed, time/ trax/ story mode editors and mocap pipelines.
  • Strong animation implementation and working with gameplay systems.
  • 8+ years of experience in gameplay animation sets, locomotion, motion matching, state machines, and blend trees. and/or 8+ years of experience in body animation including advanced motion (fighting, etc)
  • Facial animation experience (esp. FACS based facial experience) a plus
  • Must be able to provide a demo reel or examples of professional work with a breakdown of your contributions to the shots, and an accompanying resume.
  • Solid sense of game design principles and player experience through motion.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively solve problems and resolve any hurdles that present themselves while working to create the best animation possible.
  • High knowledge in systematic gameplay animations for a AAA games
  • Ability to learn new programs and pipelines quickly and effectively.
  • Proactive and driven, seeking out tasks remaining to be finished and actively seeking opportunities to learn.
  • Open to learning and implementing technical processes and pipelines in the animation process to be able to get to a first pass, so more time can be spent on detailed animation clean up.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, able to work efficiently with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and able to manage priorities.
  • Highly organized and diligent, able to meet quick deadlines while producing high-quality animation.
  • Must be willing to overlap with North American (PST or EST) time zones for trainings/meetings with clients.
  • Must be willing to work in office from Virtuos KLM offices.
  • Strong English verbal and written skills required.
  • Experience in supporting or being involved in motion capture shoots for gameplay is a plus
