About the role

We are seeking a highly-skilled Senior Front End Engineer with deep expertise in Angular to take a leading role in the development and maintenance of our core front-end applications. This is a critical position for an engineer who thrives on technical ownership and is passionate about building scalable, high-performace web applications.

As a Software Engineer at Loc8, you will play a critical role in developing solutions that drive the company's continued growth and success in the Asset Maintenance and Field Service software space. This full-time position is based in Malaysia, offering the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects while enjoying a collaborative and supportive work environment.

What you\'ll be doing

• Owning, developing, and maintaining our existing enterprise-grade SaaS front-end applications, with an emphasis on improving the architectural direction, scalability, performance and overall UX.
• Owning and developing new features, functions and components.
• Collaborating closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend, and full-stack engineers to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions.
• Leveraging a deep and comprehensive suite of backend services and APIs, and where necessary, collaborating with backend and full-stack engineers to develop and improve services and endpoints.
• Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code, and championing front-end best practices and documentation.
• Mentoring and guiding other developers as the front-end knowledge expert.
• Participating in code reviews, planning and retrospectives to ensure the delivery of reliable and efficient software.
• Learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
• Contributing to the improvement of development processes and tools.

Experience & Skills

• Expert-level proficiency and extensive hands-on experience with Angular. We\'re looking for 5+ years.
• Proven experience in migrating complex legacy applications (e.g., from AngularJS to modern frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue).
• Strong attention to detail regarding UI and UX implementation, consistency and performance standards.
• Hands-on experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in CSS preprocessors such as Sass or LESS.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with front-end testing frameworks.
• Very strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong general problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and adapt to changing requirements.
