Job summary

Fraser and Neave (F&N) in Port Klang, Malaysia, seeks an R&D professional to provide technical and development support for new products across brand lines. You will run lab prototypes, pilot trials and production experiments, while preparing recipe costings and coordinating sensory evaluation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in food science/technology or related fields, 2–3 years of experience, and strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology.
• At least 2–3 years in related fields.
• Well versed in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity to identify alternative approaches and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and R&D support in the development of new products for F&N brands from ingredient sourcing, process development to specification.
• Conduct laboratory prototypes development, pilot and production trial runs.
• Prepare all related recipes (trial, costing and commercial).
• Support sensory evaluation activities.
• Conduct raw material evaluation to support the sourcing (new, alternate and cost reduction).
• Assist in trouble shooting of technical related issues.
• Ensure that the maintenance of the R&D laboratory is in good order and all the equipment's are in good working condition. To arrange for repair/service/calibration when required.
• Provide monthly R&D project report and timely update of project progress.
