KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure SEB Group, SEB Power Group and SER Group Management Report, Profit Segmentation, Dashboard, Government Report and the comprehensive data analysis are prepared completely, timely and accurately to provide data driven insights and time-sensitive business and operational performance information for shaping strategic business decisions.
- Ensure SEB Power Group and SER Group quarterly Business Performance Appraisal pack are prepared and the appraisal sessions are conducted timely.
- Responsible for recommending investments for Post Investment Reviews (“PIRs”) (Capital Management), collaborating with PIR Leads in performance management, coordinating stakeholders, conducting PIRs and preparing PIRs reports.
- Understand business requirements and translate them effectively into data management requirements.
- Strategise and oversee the development of data management framework, implementation and operation of data management by ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of data captured in data warehouse via integration with various data sources.
- Manage data visualisation via dashboarding and infographics, business intelligence tools to report the organisational performance and convey business the insight with predictive analysis and forecasting to improve businesses.
- Identify opportunities/areas of improvement, root causes of issues, and implementing necessary operational changes (value creation and performance improvement projects) and deliver measurable improvements alongside with other departments/functions to improve efficiency and productivity as well as enable the business to perform to its optimum ability and deliver value.
- Ensure the integration of information in performance management systems.
- Oversee the departmental goals and objectives to ensure align with Sarawak Energy’s Strategic Plan and related benchmarks by developing and revising performance measures and initiatives; tracking and monitoring performance measures via value management, collecting and analyzing performance data.
- Design an effective internal control system and develop processes to monitor the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls processes and remediate as necessary.
- Execute cost accounting process with cost accounting techniques to recommend cost reduction strategies.
- Be the subject matter expert (“SME”) in performance management, cost management, internal controls, corporate governance and lead the technical research on impact analysis and gap analysis in particular new business activities and present to management.
- Skills in Controlling/Management Accounting (“CO”) under Finance and Controlling (“FICO”) module in Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) system and well verse in the codification and hierarchy of Profit Center and Cost Center for Finance Master Data. Involve in ERP system implementation and upgrading.
- Manage Project Scheme Release in Project System Module in SAP system to ensure correct scheme amount is released based on the business case approval from relevant authorities, WBS created in SAP system is created using correct Standard Project Template and all supporting documents submitted by Project Officer is complete and correct.
- Analyze the financial statements of competitors, customers and contractors/suppliers and monitor trends over time to provide input to the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze the impact of foreign operations on reported financial results, including foreign exchange transactions.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support in financial due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity investments or divestments, hedge accounting, corporate restructuring.
- Encourage continuous improvement and coach staff on how to maximize benefits and value creation.
- Conduct training for ideas and knowledge sharing.
- Manage through subordinate team members in support of efficient operations by establishing operational objectives, priorities, work standards and schedules; attending meetings; directing and managing projects and resources; responding to personnel and management issues; preparing agenda items; coordinating the activities of the section with internal and external parties.
- Discourage functional silos and formulate strategies in promoting an integrated approach to performance management.
- Carry out such other assignments and duties as instructed by the superior from time to time.

QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Recognized degree in the field of Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent.
- Preference would be given to member of the Chartered Global Management Accountant / Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (“CIMA”).
- Minimum 8-10 years of related experience in strategic planning, performance management, change management or total quality management.
- Six Sigma or other process improvement certification will be an added advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Technical, operational knowledge and skills in utilities industry and business processes.
- Knowledge and experience in SAP Project System Module (“PS”), SAP Plant Maintenance Module (“PM”), SAP Material Management Module (“MM”), SAP FICO Module and ISU-CCS Module are advantages.
- Knowledge and effective compliance of the latest Malaysian Financial Reporting Standard (MFRS), Tax Rulings and Companies Act.
- Strong business assessment methodologies and analytical skill of financial statements.
- Strong business budgeting review skill.
- Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and skill in Microsoft Office application programs.
- Strong analytical skills to cut through complexity.
