Job summary

A leading medical company in Penang is seeking a Financial Analyst to prepare regional reports and analyze financial data for strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting or auditing, and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. This role involves ensuring compliance with IFRS, managing credit strategies, and supporting corporate structuring activities.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for preparing regional reports, collecting, compiling, verifying, and analyzing financial, accounting, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions.
  • Enforce, monitor, and strategize on credit management, and implement and support SAP Credit Management and Soplex in the region.
  • Oversee the Asia Pacific closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reports, reviewing and evaluating performance, providing technical accounting advice on IFRS, and ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Support due diligence and corporate structuring activities.
  • Involve in cross-functional job scopes related to treasury and tax areas, including acting as FX Controller, coordinating with Asia Pacific counter party on the hedging arrangement and supporting In House Cash Center (IHC) operations.
  • Support roles in Withholding Tax (WHT) and Sales and Service Tax (SST) review and submission.
  • Support in ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a professional certification in ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting, auditing, or MNC environment with a strong background in analysing company financial statements.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for effective interaction with cross-functional teams and country heads.
  • Proven track record in project management, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
