Job summary

Jabil in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to perform analyses for senior and executive management and to improve financial systems. This role collaborates with accountants across functions to enhance operating results while maintaining strict controls.

The ideal candidate has a accounting/finance degree and 3–5 years in the field (or 2–3 as analyst), fluent in English and Mandarin, and hands-on experience with SAP, TM1 or Power BI and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years (analyst) or 3-5 years (senior analyst) experience.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
• Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze Business Unit financial reports on a recurring and/or adhoc basis.
• Perform inventory related transactions and cost-related adjustments.
• Ensure reconciliation of inter-company transactions and month-end closing activities.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliation schedules and management reports.
• Support audits and ensure SOX controls compliance.
• Collaborate with other functions on routine tasks and finance improvement projects.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst will perform analyses for senior and executive management on an ad hoc and recurring basis. These efforts should be performed with a creative and efficient approach and attention to detail. This role is also responsible for the maintenance and improvement of Jabil’s financial systems and toolsets and must interact with accountants at various levels and peers across multiple functions to achieve that goal. All activities are undertaken with the objective to improve Jabil’s operating results while maintaining the controls and discipline compliant with Jabil standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and analyze Business Unit financial reports on a recurring and/or adhoc basis
• Perform inventory related transactions such as standard cost roll, hub-inventory, goods-in-transit, profit elimination adjustments, etc.
• Account for business specific transactions such as non-recurring expense (NRE), sales rebate, sales return, sales/costs deferral, IO management etc.
• Ensure reconciliation of inter-company transactions are in order
• Prepare journals and review financial statements for month end closing
• Ensure finance related processes, policies and deliverables, are compliant with SOX baseline and controls
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliation schedules
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of management reports, including addressing queries from Corporate office and external stakeholders (internal and external)
• Provide commentaries for variance analysis and highlight any significant problem areas
• Work closely with Business unit and counterparts from other plant in weekly indicator and forecasts
• Collaborate with other function teams in routine/adhoc tasks and projects
• Participate in Finance improvement projects
• Support ad-hoc task and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Manage external and internal audit requirements
• Exposure and basic knowledge of transfer pricing models
• Exposure and basic knowledge of US and China taxation would be an advantage

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years (analyst) or 3 to 5 years’ (snr analyst) relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Excel and Macros are required to be successful in this role.
• SAP, TM1 and Power BI experience will be added advantage
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels including management level
