A specialized service company in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Finance Manager to oversee management accounts and financial reporting. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, plus professional qualifications like ACCA or CPA, alongside 7-10 years of relevant experience preferably in the oil & gas sector. Lead and oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, consolidated group reports, and year-end financial statements.
Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and project profitability, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and audits (internal and external).
Review vendor invoices, project coding, and payment classifications.
Ensure compliance with standard payment and approval processes.
Manage cash flow forecasting related to supplier and subcontractor payments, especially for offshore and onshore projects.
Oversee client invoicing, revenue classification, and collection timelines.
Monitor outstanding invoices and liaise with clients/project managers to ensure timely payments.
Implement effective credit control measures to minimize bad debts.
Liaise with bankers for annual reviews of banking facilities, bank guarantees, invoice financing, LCs, and other financial instruments.
Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for project operations and payroll.
Evaluate and implement digital banking and treasury tools to optimize financial management.
Prepare the annual group budget and quarterly re-forecasts in collaboration with business units.
Provide financial analysis for project bids, tenders, and contract evaluations to support business growth.
Liaise with Company Secretary, legal advisors, and insurance brokers for financial documentation, loan agreements, and trade facility renewals.
Ensure compliance with company policies, taxation laws, audit requirements, and ISO 17020 financial governance standards.
Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure all company assets are insured and properly depreciated.
Oversee the purchase, sale, and financing of company vehicles, inspection equipment, and IT assets.
Supervise and mentor the finance team, ensuring adherence to company standards and continuous improvement.
Work closely with the Managing Director on strategic and confidential matters as required.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Project Management for project cost tracking and manpower billing.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent are mandatory.
Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience, preferably within:
Oil & Gas / Energy Services industry
Project-based or manpower contracting environment
Group or regional finance structure
Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost control, and revenue recognition in service contracts.
Hands‑on experience with accounting software (e.g., SQL, Xero, SAP, or similar).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial modeling tools.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
