Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia seeks a Financial Accountant to prepare financial reports, manage general ledger, and ensure compliance. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and have at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry. Professional certification is a plus.

Job Descriptions

Financial Accounting
  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  2. Manage general ledger and trial balance.
  3. Handle accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments.
  4. Prepare for statutory audits and tax submissions.
  5. Ensure financial compliance and internal control.
  6. Compile cash flow requirements for the company and subsidiaries for business plan preparation.
  7. Prepare consolidated cash flow statements for the Group.
  8. Maintain and update financial data and projections to support business planning and management reporting.
  9. Liaise with external auditors and prepare schedule for external audit.
Project Accounting
  1. Prepare and monitor project budgets and forecasts.
  2. Record project costs, progress billings, claims, and variations.
  3. Track project cash flow and collection from clients.
  4. Analyze cost vs budget and explaining variances.
  5. Support project audits and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  6. Supervise overall project accounting staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or other equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
