Job summary

A leading construction services company in Malaysia is seeking a Financial and Project Accountant. The role involves preparing financial reports, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting and has at least 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.

Job description

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Manage general ledger and trial balance.

Handle accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments.

Prepare for statutory audits and tax submissions.

Ensure financial compliance and internal control.

Compile cash flow requirements for the company and subsidiaries for business plan preparation.

Prepare consolidated cash flow statements for the Group.

Maintain and update financial data and projections to support business planning and management reporting.

Liaise with external auditors and prepare schedule for external audit.

Project Accounting

Prepare and monitor project budgets and forecasts.

Record project costs, progress billings, claims, and variations.

Track project cash flow and collection from clients.

Analyze cost vs budget and explaining variances.

Support project audits and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Supervise overall project accounting staff.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or other equivalent qualification is an added advantage.

Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
