A leading intellectual property firm is looking for a Senior Finance Executive in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will manage full sets of accounts, handle multi-currency transactions, and ensure compliance with local regulations. This position requires a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, along with 4-6 years of relevant experience. Join a collaborative team where your insights can lead to streamlined financial processes.
We’re looking for a hands‑on and detail‑loving Senior Finance Executive to take charge of the day‑to‑day accounting and bookkeeping work across a few group companies.
You’ll be deep in the numbers - handling full sets of accounts, managing cash flow in MYR, USD, and SGD, and making sure everything ties up neatly each month. Beyond keeping things accurate, we’re looking for someone who enjoys improving how things are done — smarter systems, smoother processes, cleaner reports.
If you’re someone who likes structure but also gets a little excited about making things better, you’ll fit right in.
Manage full sets of accounts (AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation) for multiple companies.
Handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping and ensure records are tidy, accurate, and up to date.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
Assist with group consolidation and intercompany reconciliations.
Review and process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments with complete documentation.
Prepare payment runs and ensure approvals are properly tracked.
Issue client invoices and follow up on collections — because healthy cash flow matters.
Maintain AR/AP ageing reports and keep things organized for easy tracking.
Monitor daily balances and handle multi‑currency transactions (MYR, USD, SGD) confidently.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and highlight funding or collection needs early.
Manage intercompany transfers, foreign exchange, and reconciliations across entities.
Liaise with banks on payments, deposits, and account matters.
Prepare and submit SST, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and PCB filings on time (and with zero errors).
Liaise with auditors and tax agents to ensure a smooth audit and compliance process.
Maintain clean and audit‑ready documentation at all times.
Spot areas for process improvement or automation — and help implement them.
Work with management to refine reports, templates, and financial dashboards.
Contribute ideas to make accounting operations more efficient, accurate, and transparent.
A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
4–6 years’ experience handling full sets of accounts and bookkeeping.
Hands‑on experience with AutoCount, Xero, and QuickBooks.
Comfortable managing multi‑currency accounts (MYR, USD, SGD) and reconciliations.
Solid understanding of accounting standards (MFRS) and local compliance requirements.
Sharp eye for detail, strong ownership, and a “let’s get this done right” attitude.
Enjoys working independently, but also easy to work with in a team.
Experience handling group accounts or multiple entities.
Interest in improving workflows and leveraging tech tools.
Proactive and curious — you don’t just do the numbers, you understand the story behind them.
A calm problem‑solver who can laugh a little even when month‑end gets busy.
