Job summary

A leading financial institution in Malaysia seeks a compliance advisor focused on financial crime compliance. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on AMLCFT and TFS matters related to financial crime compliance and strengthen the financial crime compliance engagement with business stakeholders to increase awareness of the regulatory developments and requirements.
  • Review and implement the Group Financial Crime Compliance policies and procedures in CIMB Group. This includes ensuring that the policies and procedures are aligned with applicable laws and regulations, and that they are effectively communicated and implemented throughout the organization.
  • Manages the performance of the team members and enhance their competency in performing their responsibilities. Retention of performing staff, manage staff resources and succession planning, provide continuous coaching and monitoring of staff and their development.
    • Working jointly with compliance and business compliance colleagues - COEs, RCU Heads/RCOs and DCOROs, ensure that stakeholders implement appropriate systems, processes and controls to meet Financial Crime compliance obligations. This includes investigating allegations of compliance violations, determining the root cause of the violations, and taking corrective action to prevent future violations.
  • Conduct organizational AML/CFT related risk assessments and identify potential compliance risks. This includes assessing the organization's activities, processes, and systems to identify areas where compliance risks may be present.
  • Communicate with regulators and other stakeholders on compliance matters, including providing updates on the organization's compliance program, responding to inquiries from regulators, and participating in regulatory meetings.
  • Report on the organization's compliance program to management and the board of directors, providing updates on the program's effectiveness, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the Regional Head, GFCC and the management on any projects related to financial crime compliance to achieve CIMB Group’s overall business and strategic objectives.
