Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Facilities Tools Install & Layout Engineer to lead AI-enabled space planning and layout optimization for upcoming projects.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary layouts, manage capacity planning, and act as a liaison between operations, contractors, and management, driving automation and IIoT initiatives across Digital Transformation, IT, Manufacturing, and Facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proven project management skills (PMP).
• Ambitious with ability to multitask and balance priorities.
• Good interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and optimize equipment and facilities layout plans for space planning, utilities capacity, safety clearance, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary layout integration including electrical power, lighting, data/network, CDA, PCW, exhaust, fire protection, and instrumentation systems.
• Lead and coordinate machine hook-ups, relocations, floor markings, and facility-related projects; serve as liaison between operations, contractors, vendors and management.
• Manage facility capacity planning using FCPS; assess capacity impact, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Apply AI-enabled space planning, digital twin, and simulation tools to optimize tool layouts, utilities routing, workflow, and expansion scenarios.
• Use AI-powered dashboards to monitor facility utilization, capacity trends, project progress, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Digital Transformation, IT, Manufacturing, and Facilities teams to implement smart facility solutions, IIoT, and AI-based decision support.
• Support development of digital twin models for facilities systems, tool installations, and layout visualization to improve planning accuracy and reduce risks.
• Drive automation initiatives for layout management, document control, capacity planning, and engineering workflows through AI and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and optimize equipment and facilities layout plans to ensure compliance with space planning, utilities capacity, safety clearance, and operational efficiency requirements.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary layout integration, including electrical power, lighting, data/network, CDA, PCW, exhaust, fire protection, and instrumentation systems in alignment with project scope and development standards.
• Lead and coordinate machine hook-ups, relocations, floor markings, and facility-related projects to ensure operational readiness and safety. Act as the central technical liaison between operations, contractors, equipment vendors, and management.
• Manage facility capacity planning using the FCPS to ensure utilities are sufficient to support business demands. Assess capacity impact, identify risks, and recommend mitigation or optimization strategies to prevent overloads and disruptions.
• Apply AI-enabled space planning, digital twin, and simulation tools to optimize tool layouts, utility routing, workflow efficiency, and future expansion scenarios.
• Leverage AI-powered dashboarding and visualization platforms to monitor facility utilization, capacity trends, project execution progress, and key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with Digital Transformation, IT, Manufacturing, and Facilities teams to implement smart facility solutions, Industrial IoT (IIoT), and AI-based decision support systems.
• Support development and implementation of digital twin models for facilities systems, tool installations, and layout visualization to improve planning accuracy and reduce project risks.
• Drive automation initiatives for layout management, document control, capacity planning, and engineering workflows through AI, scripting, and digital technologies.
