A leading company in Malaysia is seeking a tax compliance officer responsible for managing tax filings and ensuring adherence to local tax laws. The role involves advising on tax strategies and liaising with tax authorities. Candidates must hold a degree in Accounting or Finance and have at least two years of relevant experience. The primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with local tax laws by managing tax filings, reporting, and documentation, while providing tax planning and advisory services to optimize the company’s tax position.
Ensuring all companies within the Group complies with Malaysian tax laws and regulations, including filing tax returns (e.g., income tax, SST, WHT) on time and accurately.
Assist in developing tax strategies that optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with the law. This may involve advising on tax incentives, exemptions, or structuring transactions in a tax-efficient manner.
Assist in liaising with Tax Agent, Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia and / or other tax authorities, handling tax queries, assessments, audits, and disputes.
Assist in preparing and reviewing tax-related financial statements, schedules, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with Malaysian tax regulations.
Assist in ensuring proper documentation of tax-related transactions and maintaining records for auditing purposes, including tax returns, tax correspondence, and supporting documents.
Assist in monitoring tax law change, keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation, rulings, and regulations in Malaysia, and advising the company on how these changes impact business operations.
Assist in ensuring adherence to transfer pricing policies and promptly address any irregularities to maintain compliance.
Assist in ensuring the smooth implementation of e-Invoicing across all portfolios within the Group.
Degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Professional qualification from a recognized accountancy body.
Minimum 2 years of experience in tax-related roles, especially in corporate tax compliance, tax planning, or transfer pricing.
Ability to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and tax risks to ensure compliance and minimize liabilities.
