Senior Executive, Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Define sourcing requirements by developing clear Statements of Work and commercial expectations that align with business needs.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing cycles – RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, recommendations, and award proposals – ensuring competitive and value-driven outcomes.
- Drive supplier onboarding & performance through pre-qualification, audits, and continuous capability assessments, including new technologies, products, or processes.
- Champion strategic sourcing opportunities by analysing spend, market insights, and supplier landscapes to unlock value, innovation, and cost efficiencies.
- Develop and enhance Group-Wide Price Agreements (GWPA) through establishment, monitoring, optimisation, and continuous improvement across categories.
- Expand supplier base strategically through ongoing market research to ensure resilient, high-quality, and cost-competitive vendor options for the Group.
- Lead cost optimisation initiatives by driving cost-reduction strategies, make-versus-buy analysis, value engineering, and supplier improvement programs.
- Oversee procurement cost estimating to ensure accurate quotations, business case submissions, and alignment of cross-functional assumptions for informed decision-making.
- Implement savings initiatives and track realisation of cost benefits across sourcing projects, ensuring measurable impact to the organisation’s bottom line.
- Prepare strategic proposals and insights through detailed reports, analysis, and presentations that support sourcing strategy, cost efficiency plans, and leadership decision-making.
Job Requirements
- At least Bachelor Degree, preferably in Engineering, Technology, or related field with 3-5 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or relevant business functions.
- Good understanding of economics, particularly supply and demand fundamentals and cost drivers.
- Solid foundation in procurement processes, tools, methodology, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret procurement spend data and derive insights.
- Skilled in negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, able to prepare reports and presentations effectively.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken, with clear and confident articulation.
- Collaborative team player who works well across functions, while being independent, self-driven, and results-oriented.
- High integrity, attention to detail and strong work ethics, with adaptability to changing business needs and environments.
