Job summary

A leading retail company seeks an Event Coordinator in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role involves supporting PR initiatives, planning and executing events, and ensuring alignment with business goals. Job description
Responsibilities

Support PR and partnership activities, including communication with media, embassies, and trade offices.

Coordinate sponsorships, collaborations, and joint promotions with partners.

Assist in preparing press materials, proposals, and communication decks when needed.

Event Management

Plan and execute events such as international supermarket fairs, store activations, and in-house functions.

Coordinate logistics, setup, and on-site arrangements with vendors and event agencies.

Ensure brand consistency, signage accuracy, and proper event presentation.

Oversee timelines and task completion based on manager or project lead direction.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Marketing, Finance, and Operations to align event activities with business goals.

Manage internal updates and ensure smooth communication between teams and vendors.

Reporting & Administration

Track event KPIs, budgets, and timelines.

Prepare post-event reports and improvement recommendations.

Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Event Management, or related field.
  • Relevant experience is an advantage.
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, third language is an advantage.
  • Able to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator) is an advantage.
  • Willing to travel and support weekend events when required.
