Job description
Senior Executive, New Business (Underwriting) - Life Insurance

Supports manager to ensure that the daily operations of the departments are within the agreed service levels.

Reporting to the Head of New Business & Underwriting.

In responsible in handling and manage all related support work to New Business and Underwriting Administration process to ensure it meets organization’s business needs – includes handling on contract issuance-both hardcopy and e-policy, payment requisition and refund, appointment / review of panel clinics, preparing related new business letters and any ad hoc new business plus underwriting related tasks eg: to process up to jet underwriting if given the authority

Responsibilities
  1. Policy Contract: both Hardcopy and e-Policy
    • Manage policy outsourcing for issuance policy contracts are attended to and on a timely manner within stipulated guidelines and turnaround time. End to end process.
    • To provide and ensure all data of issuance policy in order so that our vendor will produce accurate policy contracts.
    • New products handling – will need to perform health quality check for the few inforce cases to ensure the contracts are accordingly.
    • Ensure all policy contracts are received within SLA from vendors and keep records to track.
    • Attended reprinting request and any special request from all departments on policy contracts and medical cards.
    • Ensure all the proposal images are scanned and deal directly with the scanning team. Quality Check randomly required on the images downloaded by the scanning team.
    • Manage Image WFI download ROBO.
  2. 2. Payment handling for New Business Underwriting
    • Keep track of the invoices from all vendors and issue payments accurately and within the given SLA.
    • Prepare refund payment of Non-Taken Up, decline, postpone and excess premium cases including covering letter to customer. Processing within the turnaround time.
    • Attended E-mail request from all channels on policy contracts and refunds.
  3. 3. Handling New Business Panel clinics process.
    • In-charge of Panel Clinic’s and investigating any misconduct by panels or agents. (End to End)
    • Survey and appoint panel clinics.
  4. 4. Dealing with New Business and Underwriting vendors
    • Related to Printing vendors.
    • Purchase stationaries for vendors, dealing with other vendors such as Halus Sutera for forms printing (if any).
  5. 5. Backup role when there is absence of staff within the department
    • Be the backup to perform daily policy contract handling.
    • Be the backup to perform UAT for policy contract.
    • Be the backup to execute RPA.
    • Approval of insurance applications up to the jet underwriting authority limits given.
  6. 7. Risk Assessment and Audit related matters
    • Be guided with Company’s SLA & BNM and guidelines and comply with no audit issues.
  7. 8. Any Other Related Ad-Hoc duties
    • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superiors both in New Business and Underwriting.
    • To attend email on any complaint related to policy contracts, vendor issues, panel clinic and errors, lab reports documents.
Qualifications
  1. Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/Management/Insurance or its related discipline
  2. Experience
    • At least 3 years relevant experience in a line function role.
    • Able to work with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines.
    • Knowledge of Life insurance business and regulatory licensing requirements will be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of the process and procedures in New Business & Underwriting Operations Departments will be an advantage.
  3. Skills
