Job description

Underwrite life insurance risk in accordance with the concurred authority, ensure meeting personal KPI and work as a team to meet departments and company’s vision.

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and counter sign life insurance risks up to the concurred authority.
  • Work with immediate superiors and other managers to ensure personal KPI and departments KPI are met.
  • Ensure daily personal productivity is met.
  • Support the training and development of junior underwriters.
  • Work with other team members to ensure overall department turnaround time is met.
  • Follow quality underwriting practice including prudent, competitive and consistent underwriting decisions, adhere to legal and compliance requirements, company and regional underwriting policy.
  • Initiate, provide advice, respond to enquiries and foster good working relationship with the Sales Team and agents.
  • Support the team in providing value‑added underwriting services, including training, agency support initiatives and others.
  • Support initiative and projects that are initiated from Group to ensure alignment with Group and company direction.
  • Perform any other duties as and when deemed necessary.
Qualifications
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in underwriting for life insurance or related field.
  • Experience in underwriting group insurance is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and implement them accordingly.
  • Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot is an added advantage.
