A leading airport services provider in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Ground Handling Manager to oversee daily operations at Senai International Airport. Responsibilities include ensuring effective manpower scheduling, monitoring staff performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or a related field and have 4-5 years of experience in ground handling or cargo operations. This role is crucial for maintaining smooth airport operations and meeting client expectations.
In charge of the daily operations ensuring the effectiveness of the rostering and scheduling of manpower deployment onsite on daily basis to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor staff discipline and competency.
Liaise closely with all sections/unit in the department (internal stakeholders) and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate allocation of duties and that customer needs are met.
To ensure appropriate allocation of duties and customer needs are met on ground handling and airport services.
Reconcile accountable documents within ground services with payment collected and return them to the finance department in a neat, orderly fashion, recorded and checked by the head of the department.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed by the head of department or other SATSSB senior management team.
To participate in any event or project within SATSSB.
Weekly and monthly submission report of ground handling to airlines, finance, manager and SATSSB monthly management report.
Analyze and review ground handling activities with relevant department (internal and external) for financial sustainability.
To plan and organize ground handling activities and ensuring good and serviceable GSE to carry out the daily ground handling activities.
To justify personnel, equipment and facilities required to accomplish handling activities or the agreed service level agreement (SLA) and SGHA.
To determine sufficient supplies, manpower and facilities required and sufficient allocates of GSE.
To determine and implement necessary safety and security precautions for handling and storing dangerous materials, special cargo, mail, baggage and passenger. Direct and coordinate
Coordinate through subordinate supervisory personnel, air transport, cargo and ramp terminal activities to provide fast and efficient services for clients and passengers.
Review dates on incoming flights, such as scheduled or estimated times of arrival or departure, destinations and down-line station stop, air cargo and passenger manifests in order to plan work activities.
Analyze reports and records of operations and inspects facilities to determine the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures and the physical condition of facilities and equipment.
Investigate cause of accident and recommend safety measures for preventing further occurrences.
Review performance evaluations of personnel for conformance to standard.
Recommend personnel action, direct and coordinate training activities to increase staff’s efficiency and proficiency.
Interpret and enforce through supervisory personnel, company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Sufficient knowledge in GOM, GHM, ERP, SMS Manual, MAVCOM Act 2015, MCAR 2016 and CAD 6010.
AdministrativeEnsure the administrative activities are coordinated among parties and result in management having the information and resources needed to make management decisions.
Ensure compliance with applicable policies.
Plan, implement, and coordinate special projects, staff, and resources.
To prepare and file reports/statistics/documents and other administrative duties in connection with the smooth operations of the department.
Ensure all is in accordance with SATSSB ISO requirements.
Prepare documentation for approval in any purchase (CAPEX and OPEX) in ground handling including but not limited to yearly budget.

To carry out risk and safety procedures/assessment for ground handling in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Justify personnel protective equipment (PPE), equipment serviceability for motorized and non-motorized required to accomplish ground handling activities or meet the agreed Service Level Agreement and SGHA.
Determine sufficient serviceability of Bay and GSE required and allocate equipment accordingly and reducing delay and OTP non-compliance.
Execute emergency procedures ( emergency respond plan) in the airport with the role of a ground handler and airport operator.
Implementing of multi-tasking in ground handling and other department as and when required within Airport Services Divison.
Education:Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred for this position.
Experience:Minimum of 4 to 5 years working experience in below wings operations / ground handling services or cargo handling.
