We are looking for passionate and service-driven individuals to join us as Financial Advisors at the following branches:

JOB PURPOSE

Provide free financial advisory services to help individuals and small businesses manage their finances and overcome debt issues. This includes financial education, personalised planning, and support through the Debt Management Programme (DMP). Advisors work closely with clients to assess their situation, create repayment plans, and guide them toward financial stability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Financial Advisory Services: Provide comprehensive financial advice on budgeting, cash flow management, and credit, tailoring advice to individual customer needs and assisting them in establishing financial goals.
  • Debt Management & Resolution: Develop personalized debt repayment solutions for qualified borrowers through credit and financial assessments, and facilitate communication with financial institutions to secure agreement on proposed plans.
  • Public Education & Outreach: Conduct financial education programs for households and SMEs, and participate in various outreach activities (exhibitions, public programs, media interviews) to improve financial literacy and promote AKPK initiatives.
  • Customer Relations & Complaint Management: Deal with customer complaints that may range from internal process issues to external problems involving Financial Institutions (FIs) and non-FIs.
  • System and Program Development Support: Participate in user and pilot tests for new systems and projects.
  • Compliance and Implementation: Ensure that financial advisory mechanisms are implemented in accordance with AKPK's goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Education: Educate customers and key partners about new AKPK initiatives, such as Social Synergy Registrations and SSM Registrations.
  • General Duties: Perform any other tasks as directed by the Branch Head / Head of Department or Division.
QUALIFICATIONS

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, or Economics is typically required to enter a financial planning certification program.

Practical Experience

Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in the financial sector is required for certification.

Professional Certification & Licensing (Added Advantage)

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) – offered by the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM)
  • Registered Financial Planner (RFP) – offered by the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC)
  • Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) – offered by FPAM for Shariah-compliant planning
  • Shariah Registered Financial Planner (Shariah RFP) – offered by MFPC
  • Obtaining a Financial Adviser Representative (FAR) license from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) is an added advantage and demonstrates higher professional credibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Professional Maturity & Focus Confident, mature, and focused individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with professional phone etiquette.
  • Empathy & Client Rapport Able to show compassion, understand client challenges, and build trust while staying objective.
  • Decision-Making Ability Comfortable making sound decisions based on client circumstances and communicating them clearly.
  • People-Oriented Enjoys working with individuals and supporting them through financial difficulties.
  • Background in recovery, rehabilitation, or collections is advantageous, though not mandatory.
WORKING CONDITION
  • Office-Based Role Primarily performed in a standard office setting with minimal physical activity required.
  • High Mental Focus Requires consistent mental concentration, attention to detail, and accuracy in handling financial matters.
  • Extended Screen Time Frequent and prolonged use of computers for data entry, analysis, and communication.
  • Emotionally Demanding Involves engaging with clients in financial distress, requiring emotional resilience and professionalism.
  • Limited Travel Occasional travel may be required for training, outreach programmes, or inter-branch support.
