Job Responsibilities

• Process analysis and improvement – Analyze production schedules, workflows, and manufacturing practices to identify inefficiencies. Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations and improve productivity.
• System design – Design and develop integrated systems of workers, machines, materials, and information for maximum efficiency. Create and manage efficient factory and facility layouts, sometimes using CAD software.
• Quality and cost control – Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure product standards are met and to reduce waste. Analyze costs and conduct cost‑benefit analyses for proposed changes.
• Data analysis – Collect, analyze, and interpret data to make informed decisions. This can involve conducting time and motion studies, monitoring performance, and using statistical analysis tools.
• Safety and compliance – Develop and implement safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
• Project management – Plan, execute, and manage projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, including clear communication and stakeholder management.
• Collaboration – Work with management, staff, vendors, and other engineers to implement solutions and achieve common goals.
