The Supply Chain Junior Executive will be involved in the end-to-end supply chain processes at Austin Powder Malaysia. The scope of jobs is ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products, optimizing inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments to meet company objectives.
The Supply Chain Junior Executive will play a crucial role in improving supply chain operations, supply security, cost-effectiveness, and enhancing overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, finished goods, packaging, consumables, and services.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensure adherence to quality and delivery timelines, and manage strategic supplier relationships.
- Conduct supplier audit and performance evaluation.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing needs and forecasts.
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and manage procurement records in SAP systems.
- Track monthly spend and prepare a monthly report.
- Monitor inventory levels at external warehouses, ensuring optimal stockholding and FIFO practices.
- Plan and coordinate inbound shipments and stock replenishments based on forecasted consumption.
- Work with the warehouse team to ensure safety, quality compliance, and readiness for audits (e.g., CIMAH, DOSH).
- Coordinate international and domestic logistics for inbound shipments, including breakbulk and container cargo.
- Engage with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and port authorities to manage vessel schedules, demurrage, and documentation.
- Monitor customs clearance and permit requirements.
- Oversee trucking and delivery arrangements for the transportation of goods from external warehouses to the plant.
- Assist in production planning by coordinating the supply of materials required for manufacturing.
- Work closely with commercial and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Support regional expansion initiatives by coordinating logistics and supply chain activities across Southeast Asia.
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Supply Chain Management, logistics, or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement in manufacturing or Logistics field.
- Proactive, hands-on approach to meet operational standards.
- Knowledgeable in local customs clearance/shipping terms.
- Experience in DG cargoes is an added advantage.
- Ability to outperform on tasks and responsibilities.
- Flexible and able to adapt to the Company’s values and culture.
- Positive attitude, hardworking, trustworthy and mature thinking.
- Knowledge in ISO 9001: 2015 SOP and documentation control.
- Proficiency in using SAP B1 software and tools.
- Experience in sourcing/purchasing Engineering/ consumable items.
- Computer literate with good skills in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations and chartering will be an added advantage.
- Experience with demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management.
- Multitasking and willingness to take up the additional task assigned.
- Possess a good working attitude, be independent, and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
