A company in the agriculture industry is seeking a highly organized Senior Estate Manager for its palm oil estate in Papua New Guinea. The role involves overseeing operations, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in the oil palm sector, with strong leadership and analytical skills, and be fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Estate Manager / Estate Manager to oversee operations within our palm oil estate overseas (Based in Papua New Guinea).
JOB DESCRIPTION
Monitoring and managing all Estate managers performance and overall running of the estate.
To aid in the planning and implementation of new ideas/improvements to the overall estate management process and to maximize the production quality of fresh fruit bunches per best agricultural practice and the company’s strategic direction.
Assisting in cost management to ensure efficient use of estate resources & prudent expenditure in the running of the estate.
Execution of all aspects of supervision of oil palm plantation operations within their assigned area.
Supervision of field work (ie. pruning, weeding, manuring) to ensure it is done to acceptable standard.
Supervision & control of workers with a view of maximizing productivity.
Supervision of harvesting operations to ensure harvesting rounds are performed according to schedule & harvesting standards are maintained.
To assist Management in the long-term development of the estate which includes staff training and sustainable operational activities.
Proactive in identifying and rectifying any issues that may arise.
To monitor day-to-day plantation operations and to identify problem areas and take corrective actions, ensuring operating expenses and profitability are maximized and annual target plantings/harvests are met.
To ensure appropriate monitoring systems are put in place for all plantation tending tasks, such as general tractor work, spraying, weeding, trimming, harvesting, and slashing, as well as protection against fire and disease.
Ensuring all occupational health & safety requirements are complied with including ensuring staff & workers are adequately trained & equipped.
Plans and implements efficient work schedules to achieve goals and targets.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans.
To implement strategies, review and set triggers to ensure KPIs and objectives are met in respective divisions.
Regular communication and support the Estate Management team.
Liaise with the management staff and employees.
Any other tasks / objectives which may be assigned by your management.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must possess at least Higher Secondary, STPM, 'A-Level, Pre-U, Diploma, Advanced /Higher/Graduate Diploma, bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Agriculture/Aquaculture/Forestry or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of working experience in the oil palm industry or related field is required for this position.
Strong leadership qualities, good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in oil palm planting and replanting will be an added advantage.
Proactive, driven, detailed oriented and independent individual.
Preferred language: English and Bahasa Malaysia.
