Job Description

Job Summary

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our SWK substrate plant polishing department. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process Optimization: Improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Develop and implement methods to ensure products meet specifications and standards consistently. Collaborate with other departments.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in manufacturing processes to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks in manufacturing processes and implement measures to mitigate them, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review processes and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and implement changes accordingly. Incorporate new technologies, materials, and methods to into existing workflows, enhance manufacturing processes and stay ahead of industry advancements.
  • Equipment Optimization: Collaborate with Maintenance and Equipment teams to optimize equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive maintenance programs. Recommend equipment upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of processes, procedures, and changes to facilitate analysis, audits, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including production, equipment engineering, development, quality, and management to address challenges and implement improvements.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to production staff on new processes, equipment, and procedures to ensure effective implementation and adherence to standards.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process optimization techniques, and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software, statistical analysis tools and 8D problem solving methodology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED:

  • Minimum with 2-3 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing roles, preferably in the process engineer sector.
  • Experiences, skills and knowledge in 4IR is a great advantage.
  • Eagerness to stay updated with advancements in technology and manufacturing processes.
  • Eager to learn and strong growth mindset thinking
SKILLS
  • Ability to troubleshoot process and product issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in analyzing process and product performance data, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing improvements.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, articulate technical information, and collaborate on projects.
  • Skills in managing projects related to new product introduction, process/machine upgrades, or process improvements, including budgeting and scheduling are added advantage.
