A global semiconductor manufacturer in Penang is seeking an IT Systems Administrator with at least a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience managing semiconductor manufacturing IT systems. The role involves liaising with technical teams and vendors, mapping business requirements, and supporting multiple production sites. Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, and Linux is essential, while familiarity with Java, C#, and ITIL will be an advantage. The candidate should be fluent in English and motivated to take ownership of applications and projects.
Own IT systems in manufacturing locally and support colleagues on different production sites in Asia and Europe. Guarantee smooth manufacturing.
Handle changes or emergencies as needed for high priority issues. Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements. Provide consulting services on both new implementations and existing support projects.
Act as the liaison between IT technical team, business functions and vendor to ensure requirements and progress are communicated accurately and timely. Work with business functions and vendor in problem solving and troubleshooting. Identify gaps, issues and work around solutions.
Map business requirements, processes and objectives. Develop, customize and configure necessary system modifications, perform testing and document results.
Establish and keep system standards between the sites.
Candidate need to have at least Bachelors Degree for this position. Master's Degree will have an added advantage.
Minimum 3 years of experience in owning semiconductor manufacturing critical IT systems.
Must have experience with SQL, Oracle and Linux. Candidate with Java or C# will have an added advantage.
Fluent in English, verbal and writing.
Experience in Requirements Engineering, 8D, ITIL is good to have.
Need to be highly motivated to take initiative, assume the ownership of the applications and projects, and provide a strong interface between process engineering and automation.
Experience in working with colleagues abroad is nice to have
