The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for leading, designing, and managing earthwork and geotechnical projects. This role ensures technical excellence, safety, compliance, and timely delivery while driving innovation and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities
- A. Geotechnical Investigation & Analysis
- Conduct site investigations, including borehole drilling, soil sampling, and lab testing.
- Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater data to recommend engineering solutions.
- B. Earthwork Design & Supervision
- Plan, design, and supervise earthwork operations (excavation, embankments, compaction, retaining structures).
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.
- C. Foundation & Structural Design Support
- Design and review foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization, and other geotechnical structures.
- Prepare calculations, technical drawings, and design reports.
- D. Project Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, consultants, and authorities.
- Monitor progress, schedules, and resource allocation for geotechnical works.
- E. Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
- Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to quality and HSE standards.
- Identify and mitigate geotechnical risks during construction.
- F. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, method statements, and documentation for internal and client use.
- Review and approve geotechnical-related submittals from contractors.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
- H. Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor site conditions and troubleshoot geotechnical issues.
- Assist in cost estimation, resource planning, and environmental compliance.
- Support client meetings and technical presentations.
- Stay updated on new geotechnical methods and technologies.
Work Arrangement
- Employment Type: Contract
- Working Days: 6 days a week
- Working Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a related field.
Special Skills
- Strong understanding of geological conditions and subsurface investigations.
- Experience in soil sampling, geotechnical instrumentation, and analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
