Job summary

Eagle Wireless Engineering Centre Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the R&D Software Department. You will architect and design embedded software across application, kernel, and drivers on RTOS/Linux platforms, shaping technology choices and integration patterns.

The role requires leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-quality, well-documented software from concept to production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
7+ years of embedded software development experience.
Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems.
Experience with Linux kernel, device drivers, IPC, multithreading and socket programming.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Architect and design scalable, reliable embedded software (application, kernel, drivers) on RTOS/Linux.
Make key decisions on tech stack, data storage, APIs, and integration patterns.
Tackle complex technical challenges, including modem software and 3GPP analysis.
Produce high-quality architectural and design documents.
Mentor junior engineers and respond to complex technical queries.
Lead features/projects from conception to delivery and coordinate tasks.
Collaborate with product management and hardware/test teams to translate requirements into solutions.
Lead tech talks and create technical training materials to promote best practices.
Enforce code quality through thorough reviews and manage the full software lifecycle.
Identify and address technical debt and mitigation strategies.
