Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Penang, Malaysia seeks senior firmware/embedded software engineers to design, develop, test and debug embedded firmware for real-time control systems. You will work on complex issues, translate concepts into structured projects across multiple products, and contribute to post-ship maintenance within an Agile team.

The role requires 8+ years in embedded software with C/C++, Python, and RTOS such as VxWorks or uCOS, plus knowledge of ARM/x86 architectures and board

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years of experience in related industry.
• Fluency in C, C++, Python.
• Experience in embedded systems with real-time OS such as VxWorks, uCOS, and embedded Linux.
• Knowledge of computer architecture (x86, ARM).
• Ability to read datasheets and schematics.
• Experience in board bring-up and validation.
• Experience with standard bus interfaces (I2C, PCIe, SPI, UART, etc).
• Experience with USB and LAN protocols.
• Experience in low-level driver development.
• Results-oriented with proactive teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and debug embedded application software and firmware for real-time controls.
• Solve complex and high-impact design problems including customer application issues.
• Translate broad concepts into structured projects spanning multiple products or tech families.
• Deliver high-quality firmware as part of an Agile development team.
• Debug issues and produce robust code; maintain and support products post-ship.
• Monitor industry trends and apply relevant technologies.
