Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description:
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Ensure supervision of technical engineering support for safe, efficient production operations in the Sarawak and Sabah Blocks.
- Ensure that production requirements, safe operating practices, and procedures comply with the Company Management System while meeting environmental and legislative requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the Modification of Change (MOC) system, including logging, documenting, and engineering changes to offshore facilities according to SMS procedures.
- Coordinate and lead the Maintenance Electrical team to provide:
- Technical services to ensure continued hydrocarbon production safely and efficiently, supporting the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability, Head of Malaysia Sarawak Assets, Head of Malaysia Sabah Assets, and offshore teams.
- Brownfield technical services to the same stakeholders.
- Support commissioning and startup teams during MOC work.
- Assist the specialist optimization team in analyzing and resolving operational production issues.
- Liaise with offshore and onshore management, support groups, and projects to ensure effective communication and provide operations input for Sarawak and Sabah Oil & Gas operations and future projects.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant safety codes and operating procedures, and contribute to their continuous improvement.
- Assist in planning and coordinating major activities such as startup, commissioning, and planned shutdowns, evaluating their impact on field integrity and ensuring proper procedures are in place.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Electrical and HV/LV power distribution systems.
- KEY AUTHORITIES
- Act within the authorities granted by the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability (PBF/M).
- Manage budgets within limits set by the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability (PBF/M).
- Provide engineering support to optimize production, meet targets, and fulfill hydrocarbon export expectations.
- SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer include:
- Shared responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel at the operations site, including staff, contractors, and visitors, as well as environmental safety.
- Manage activities and operational work programs under supervision, ensuring compliance with management systems, policies, procedures, work instructions, and regulations.
- Motivate and involve maintenance teams and contractors in ongoing safety development and implementation.
- Ensure contractors and vendors are aware of their health, safety, and emergency responsibilities.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on process equipment and emergency shutdown systems.
- WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Coordinate with the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability (PBF/M), Field Manager, Field PIC, Platform/Facilities PIC, offshore and onshore production teams, and maintenance teams in Sarawak and Sabah.
- Collaborate with Sarawak, Sabah, and Peninsular project, facilities, and production teams.
- Work with short-term contract and technical staff, as well as visitors.
- Maintain good relations with personnel across all facilities and the KL office.
