Job summary
A leading offshore drilling company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Drilling Supervisor to lead offshore drilling activities. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in offshore operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role, and expertise in deepwater drilling. Responsibilities include managing drilling teams, overseeing Dry Tree Unit operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years experience in offshore drilling operations, with 5 years as drilling supervisor.
- Valid IWCF Well Control Certificate (Supervisor Level) and other required safety certifications.
- Experience with Dry Tree Unit (DTU) operations and various types of drilling rigs.

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily offshore drilling activities, ensuring safe and effective execution in compliance with operational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Function as the company representative offshore, providing guidance and real-time decision-making for deepwater drilling and completion operations.
- Oversee Dry Tree Unit (DTU) operations, including surface BOP systems, deepwater well drilling, completions, and well interventions on tension leg platforms and spars.
- Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary offshore teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among drilling crews, service providers, marine operators, and rig maintenance teams.
- Optimize rig operations and well performance by using technical expertise to identify and implement improvements in drilling, completion, and well intervention practices.
- Ensure readiness and compliance with well control requirements, maintaining the capability to manage critical situations safely.
- Collaborate with completion teams for the planning, preparation, and operational execution of well completions and workover activities.
- Provide accurate and timely updates and reporting to onshore operational and management teams.
- Execute risk assessments and ensure implementation of mitigation measures during drilling and intervention activities.
- Monitor rig performance and ensure efficient utilization of resources while adhering to operational and safety standards.
Requirements
- Certificate in Engineering or equivalent, OR acceptable working experience in Drilling Operation.
- Valid IWCF Well Control Certificate (Supervisor Level)
- Possess valid medical, HUET and Offshore Survival Certificates.
- A minimum of 15 years experience in managing daily drilling operations offshore with at least 5 years of experience as drilling supervisor / company man offshore specific in deepwater operations.
- Direct experience with Dry Tree Unit (DTU) operations:
- Surface BOP operations
- Drilling and completion from tension leg platforms (TLPs) or spars
- Workover and well intervention on dry tree wells
- Shall have prudent working knowledge in various types of drilling rigs.
- Show proven competencies in various rig operation management.
- Familiar with well completion operations, preferably having worked within a completion team and been involved with planning, preparation and execution of completions.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary offshore teams (drilling contractors, service providers, marine crew, rig maintenance).
