Overview
Manage operations of the Penang Global Distribution Center (GDC); ensuring that all orders are shipped accurately and on-time and that incoming goods are processed efficiently and accurately. Partner with Materials Management, Manufacturing and other distribution sites to optimize end-to-end supply chain performance. Hire, train, and develop the team to support all aspects of the GDC activities. Represent the GDC on global initiatives and ensure strategic alignment to global priorities.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the GDC team to execute day-to-day operations, including warehouse operations, transportation and customs regulatory compliance to meet customer requirements.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure GDC capabilities is developed and ready to support business growth.
- Demonstrates leadership in setting improvement goals and departmental objectives.
- Budgets and controls department annual operating expenses.
- Develops and maintains relationships with the global distribution network as well as incoming manufacturing sites to ensure optimal communication and process execution.
- Works with internal and external regulatory bodies and auditors to ensure department policies related to inventory accuracy and distribution are in line with regulations and company goals.
- Partners effectively with 3PL and freight carriers to ensure performance according to quality, service and cost expectations.
- Establishes and supports a work environment of continuous improvement that is conducive for a high performing team.
- Ensure compliance with BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
- Ensure compliance with international trade, transportation, and customs regulations across all distribution activities. Ensures system effectiveness to support GDC operations, including SAP, local labelling system, environment control etc.
- Lead and manage all projects and improvement initiatives related to the GDC, including providing necessary coaching and mentoring to the team – ensuring execution to project requirements and alignment with stakeholders.
- Demonstrates leadership and influencing skills to collaborate cross-functionally, across geographies and different levels of the organization in pursuit of business goals.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field.
- At least 15 years of working experience in warehouse/distribution management or logistics operations.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams and complex operations.
- Strong expertise in distribution center operations, international freight, transportation and customs import/export regulation.
- Familiar with Warehouse Management Systems, preferably SAP.
