Lead and manage the planning, analysis, and design of structural works for building and infrastructure projects in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Review and verify design calculations, structural drawings, and reports prepared by junior engineers to ensure technical accuracy and quality.

Design and supervise reinforced concrete, structural steel, and foundation systems, including retaining structures and other complex structural elements.

Coordinate closely with clients, architects, M&E engineers, geotechnical consultants, and contractors to resolve design and site issues efficiently.

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior engineers and drafting teams.

Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments to optimize project cost and performance.

Prepare and present technical submissions, authority documentation, and design justifications for approval.

Utilize structural design and analysis software such as ProtaStructure (RC & Steel), Esteem, MITS MSMA2, and AutoCAD.

Oversee construction progress and compliance, ensuring works adhere to design intent, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Stay updated with the latest engineering codes, authority requirements, and best practices to maintain high professional standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Registered Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil and structural design within a consultancy environment.

Proficient and possesses solid working knowledge in engineering software, including ProtaStructure (RC & Steel), MITS MSMA2, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related analysis or drafting tools.

Good understanding of local authority submission processes, design standards, and codes of practice (e.g., BS, Eurocode, MS).

Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
