Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Shah Alam is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to focus on detailed mechanical design and project management. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience. Key responsibilities include design compliance, material selection, and team coaching. Job description
Responsibilities
  • To be aligned with the company’s Vision, Mission and Guiding Principle
  • To work towards achieving the company’s KPIs and departmental KPIs
Engineering Development and Project
  • Carries out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling simulation and design verification (physical in-house testing) as required.
  • Responsible for the specification compliance of the design
  • Responsible for mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost.
  • Responsible for meeting design to cost figures
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting designs to his superior prior for management review
  • Highlight all technical risk on the design to the Manager or Head prior to design complete.
  • Responsible to carry out a design change when deemed necessary in a timely manner
  • Responsible of standardizing components, jigs and fixtures
  • Responsible of coordinating with relevant internal / external PIC’s for completing any mock-up / project.
  • Responsible for Checking drawings and validating designs prior for presenting to superior
  • Responsible to work closely with supplier, operation, QA/QC and production to ensure products are manufacture as per design expectation.
  • Responsible to coordinate and liaise with relevant internal / external PIC’s to prepare drawings needed to ensure products are manufacture as per design expectation.
  • Responsible for reporting progress on all assigned task to his/her superior
  • Responsible for documenting every information during design stage and approval of design on each project. And to ensure the files are up-to-date according to ISO 9001 standards
Others
  • Take responsibility for coaching and supporting Design engineers in design techniques and departmental process
  • Responsible to check and approve Design engineers work and task
  • Responsible to manage all scope and assigned task in a timely manner based on his superior and company expectation
  • Additional job scope will be assigned by his superior or management as and when is necessary
Qualifications
  • Must have Degree in Engineering, preferable Mechanical engineering
  • With an experience of at least 5 years on related field
  • Familiar with material specification, technical process and fabrication process
  • Expert in SolidWork in any version
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
