Job Summary

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for managing and reviewing all design and shop drawing submissions for Data Centre projects. This role involves close coordination with consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and the site team to ensure design compliance, constructability, and timely approvals. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in structural and/or M&E design coordination within large-scale industrial or data centre developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, check, and coordinate design drawings and shop drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and design intent.
• Manage and oversee design submissions to relevant authorities, ensuring timely approval and adherence to local regulations and standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and the internal site team to resolve design discrepancies and provide technical support during construction.
• Monitor and track the status of design and authority submissions, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
• Review subcontractor drawings for interface and constructability issues, and provide timely feedback.
• Lead design coordination meetings and ensure all design-related issues are addressed and closed out.
• Support the project team in identifying and mitigating design risks that may affect construction progress.
• Ensure all design changes, revisions, and as-built documentation are properly updated and recorded.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers and drafting teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in design coordination, preferably with a main contractor or design & build environment.
• Experience in Data Centre, Industrial, or Mission-Critical Projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of local authority submission processes and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and coordination layouts.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple design deliverables within tight deadlines.
