Monks is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Marketing & BI) to drive data and analytics across client engagements in APAC. The role blends hands-on data work with client delivery, focusing on SQL‑based modeling, analytics delivery, and capability building within our data team.

You will run workshops, lead data architecture discussions, and implement BI dashboards using Looker Studio, Power BI or Tableau. Growth into senior roles and cross‑client impact are key benefits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering / analytics engineering / BI engineering.
• 2+ years in client-facing delivery, consultancy or agency preferred.
• Expert SQL skills, primarily in an ETL/ELT context; BigQuery first, Python favoured.
• Strong dimensional modeling (star schemas), warehouse design, and KPI definition.
• Experience with BigQuery and one other cloud data platform (Snowflake/Databricks/Redshift).
• Experience building BI dashboards (Looker Studio/Power BI/Tableau).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proactive and detail‑oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery and translate business questions into data/measurement solutions.
• Design data models (dimensional/star schemas) to support scalable reporting and self-serve analytics.
• Design and model data across cloud warehouses (BigQuery/Snowflake/Databricks/Redshift) for marketing, web/app, and e‑commerce sources; platform varies by client.
• Articulate, design and develop BI dashboards and reports using Looker Studio, Power BI and Tableau.
• Establish data quality, monitoring, documentation, and governance practices.
• Partner with analytics teams on tracking approaches (GA4/GTM) for usable downstream data.
• Present insights to senior stakeholders; influence roadmaps and prioritisation.
• Contribute reusable assets to Monks APAC data capability.
