About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer with SQL Server expertise to lead on‑premises data infrastructure, focusing on DBA administration, ETL pipelines, SQL Agent jobs, and data feeds. This role supports team collaboration and optional AWS integrations for migrations. Ideal for enterprise on‑prem specialists proficient in SSIS/SSRS, stored procedures, .NET, and Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable on‑prem data pipelines and ETL/ELT using T‑SQL and SSIS (ingestion, transformation, storage).
• Lead SQL Server engineering/DBA tasks: schema design, indexing, query optimization, replication, and high availability.
• Develop, deploy, and manage SSIS packages; schedule via SQL Server Agent.
• Create and maintain SSRS reports, dashboards, and subscriptions.
• Manage high‑volume SQL Server Agent jobs for ETL, maintenance, and automation.
• Ensure data governance, security, compliance, and data quality.
• Design relational data models, ERDs, keys, and constraints aligned with applications and reporting.
• Optional: Integrate AWS services (Redshift, Glue, S3, RDS) for hybrid migrations.

Desired Skills and Experience

5+ years data engineering/DBA, 3+ on‑prem SQL Server (terabytescale); migrations/optimizations/troubleshooting, including jobs/feeds. Agile cross‑team collaboration; handling failover/replication/crises. Highly desirable: SSIS/SSRS production management; .NET/Python with SQL.

Core Technical Skills (Required)

• DBA for on‑prem: HA/replication, backup/recovery, security/monitoring (SSMS/Query Store/DMVs).
• SQL Agent job management: scheduling/troubleshooting for ETL/maintenance/feeds.
• On‑prem engineering: modeling/warehousing, ETL for feeds, PowerShell scripting, Git/CI‑CD (Redgate/Flyway).
• Governance: SQL Data Quality Services, compliance frameworks.

Highly Desirable Technical Skills

• Python: Data processing (pandas/pyodbc), automation for jobs/feeds.
• AWS: Redshift/Glue/S3/RDS/Lambda/Kinesis for hybrid pipelines.
