Job summary

The Edge Partnership - The Edge in Asia seeks a senior cybersecurity expert to join its internal audit function as a technical SME. This is not a conventional audit hire; you will bring deep cybersecurity expertise into an audit setting with potential to lead technical audit engagements over time.

Responsibilities include acting as SME across offensive security, vulnerability management, and SOC, advising on realistic testing and hardening, and supporting audit engagements while gaining process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (CS/IS or related).
• Minimum 15 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience (not audit-focused).
• Strong in application security, pentesting, and OWASP.
• Proven Red Teaming and Purple Teaming experience.
• Experience with Vulnerability Management and SOC functions (detection, response, log monitoring).
• Data analytics exposure is desirable; AI and crypto startup exposure is a plus.
• Malaysian candidates only.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical SME for the audit team across offensive security, vulnerability management, and security operations.
• Advise on realistic testing, exploitation, and hardening from a practitioner perspective.
• Support audit engagements on cybersecurity matters and learn audit methodology.
• Progress toward independently leading technical audit engagements over time.
• Work across multiple cybersecurity domains with hands-on depth in 3–4 areas.
• Operate as an individual contributor with no team management responsibilities initially.
