About the Role
We are seeking a highly imaginative and strategic Senior Creative & Visual Merchandising Designer to shape the visual world of our brands. This role goes far beyond layout work — you will:
- conceptualize ideas
- develop strong visual narratives
- bring bold, high-impact brand experiences to life across retail spaces, digital platforms, campaigns, and packaging
You will work closely with business, marketing, product, and retail teams to craft visuals that are not only stunning but also commercially effective and deeply aligned with brand objectives. From Retail gondolas, wall counters, store windows and event displays to e-commerce assets, animations, and packaging, you will play a key role in defining how JEONG FAMILY shows up to the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute in-store displays, window installations, gondola/counter merchandising for retail partners (e.g., Guardian, Watsons, Miniso, WOWBeauty, Sephora, Matsukiyo, AEON, JEONG FAMILY boutiques, concourse events, roadshows).
- Develop 3D mockups, floor plans, and spatial layouts for retail and event activations to ensure optimal visibility, storytelling, and customer flow.
- Create seasonal and thematic displays aligned with campaign calendars (festive sets, limited editions, sustainability moments, gifting seasons).
- Collaborate with operations and retail teams to maintain VM standards, troubleshoot display issues, and ensure store compliance.
- Source, manage, and oversee production of custom fixtures, signage, props, and display elements (e.g., acrylic testers, fabrications, LED screens).
2. Digital & Graphic Design (Online)
- Design digital assets for social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, XHS) that visually align with offline campaigns for consistent omnichannel branding.
- Ensure UI/UX consistency across mobile web, mini-sites, and marketplace listings (TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, Amazon).
- Produce high-conversion e-commerce assets including hero images, thumbnails, banners, GIFs, and PDP visuals.
- Develop digital ads, animations, and motion graphics (launch teasers, tutorials, unboxing reels).
- Design product packaging (labels, boxes, sleeves, limited editions) that stands out on shelves and performs strongly on social media/unboxing content.
- Create print collateral such as brand playbooks, catalogues, event invitations, loyalty materials, and POSM with premium finishes (spot UV, foiling, embossing).
4. Brand Strategy & Trend Research
- Monitor global beauty and retail design trends (interactive VM, AI 3D animations, AR try-ons, modular displays) to propose innovative visual solutions.
- Maintain and strengthen brand guidelines for color, typography, visual identity, and tone across all online/offline touchpoints.
- Provide strategic creative input for campaign planning, product launches, and retail concepts.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Proven experience in visual merchandising + graphic design, ideally within beauty, cosmetics, fashion, or lifestyle retail.
- Strong portfolio showcasing retail display work (before/after VM photos, event setups) and digital design (social media grids, campaign assets).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Solid understanding of print production (Pantone matching, dielines, finishes, timelines) and digital requirements (DPI, file specs, responsive formats).
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with AR filters, virtual try-on tools, or Shopify/ecommerce design.
- Knowledge of retail performance metrics (sell-through, VM impact on conversion).
- Skills in SketchUp, Cinema 4D, or 3D software for VM mockups.
- Photography or videography skills for in-store content capture.
- Familiarity with sustainable merchandising materials and eco-friendly fabrication options.
