Job summary

A leading technology company based in Malaysia, Penang is seeking an experienced Costing Specialist. This role involves maintaining and updating standard costing, analyzing cost variances, and collaborating with various teams to validate cost assumptions. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and has 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing costing, preferably within the semiconductor or EMS industry. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are essential, along with ERP systems knowledge, ideally SAP B1.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost flow and standard cost methodology.

Job description

Maintain and update standard costing for products and manufacturing processes.

Analyze cost variances (labor, material, overhead) and explain impacts to management.

Develop and maintain cost models, margin dashboards, and profitability reports.

Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams to validate cost assumptions.

Support cost analysis for product quotations, pricing decisions, and business cases.

Prepare cost of goods sold (COGS) reports and support inventory valuations.

Assist in inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies when needed.

Lead annual and periodic physical inventory review and reconciliation with Operations.

Support FP&A and Finance leadership with cost trend analysis and strategic insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of manufacturing costing experience preferably in semiconductor or EMS industry.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, manufacturing cost flow, and standard cost methodology.
• Prior experience working with ERP systems (SAP B1 experience is an advantage).
• Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with capability to collaborate across departments.
