Job summary

ELSA in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Commissioning Engineer on a 1-year contract to lead testing, commissioning and handover activities for oil and gas projects. You will develop procedures, coordinate with project teams, and ensure adherence to project specs, standards and HSE requirements.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 6 years in oil and gas, including commissioning, and strong troubleshooting and coordination skills to deliver safe, compliant handover packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant oil and gas experience, with at least 3 years in commissioning.
• Experience in construction, hook-up, and commissioning for oil & gas projects.
• Proven ability to develop testing and commissioning procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for start-up and commissioning issues.
• Knowledge of company guidelines, standards and commissioning procedures.
• Good coordination and communication across multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop system definitions and prepare testing and commissioning procedures, including handover criteria for the Commissioning Manual.
• Plan, organise, coordinate and monitor testing and commissioning activities at project sites.
• Develop and review commissioning procedures to meet project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with project, construction, hook-up and commissioning teams for smooth execution.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing, start-up and commissioning.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with approved procedures, schedules and HSE requirements.
• Support handover and acceptance activities with complete documentation.
