Celestica in Senai, Johor seeks an experienced Senior Buyer to join the Supply Chain team on a 6-month contract. You will lead material procurement and CTB tracking for semiconductor projects, ensuring material readiness for production lines, driving shortage mitigations, managing supplier performance, and maintaining accurate SAP data.

The role requires strong procurement background in manufacturing, especially semiconductors, with SAP ERP/MRP proficiency and excellent communication skills.

Formación

• Degree holder with at least 6 years in procurement or supply chain in manufacturing (semiconductor preferred).
• Diploma holder with at least 10 years in procurement or supply chain in manufacturing (semiconductor preferred).
• SAP ERP/MRP proficiency and advanced MS Office skills required.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and purchase materials per project need-by dates and review CTB to minimize downtime while optimizing inventory.
• Address shortages, conduct RFQ/LT assessments, and resolve supplier constraints (SRA/FAI).
• Execute order push/cancel mitigations based on production plans and maintain 100% SAP data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Planning, CFT and Logistics to communicate supply risks, process returns/credits, and provide weekly updates.
• Resolve receiving or A-P invoice disputes, process Cash-in-Advance requests, perform PO clean-ups, and review ECO costs.

Detailed Description

• Plan and purchase materials according to project need-by dates; review CTB requirements to ensure zero production downtime while optimizing inventory levels.
• Address critical material shortages, lead quick-turn RFQ/Lead Time (LT) assessments, and resolve supplier constraints (including SRA and FAI).
• Execute order push/cancel mitigations based on updated production plans and maintain 100% data accuracy in SAP.
• Partner closely with Planning, CFT, and Logistics teams to communicate supply risks, process defect returns/credits, and represent purchasing in weekly updates.
• Resolve receiving/A-P invoice disputes, process Cash-in-Advance requests, perform PO clean-ups, and review costs associated with Engineering Change Orders (ECO).

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Education & Work Experience (Strict Cut-off):
  • Degree Holder: Minimum 6 years of experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment (semiconductor experience preferred).
  • Diploma Holder: Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment (semiconductor experience preferred).

Technical Expertise

• Hands-on proficiency with SAP (ERP/MRP) is essential.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing procurement, CTB processes, BOM structures, and ECO implementation.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills under tight contract timelines.
