Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Senior Project & Automation Engineer for the Bentong plant. You will lead major CAPEX and manufacturing automation projects from feasibility through handover, coordinating Production, Maintenance, Safety, and external suppliers.

The role requires hands-on automation expertise and strong project leadership to deliver on time and within budget. You will design and optimize PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, integrate drives, sensors and robots, and drive continuous improvements

Qualifications

Experience leading CAPEX projects in manufacturing environments.
Strong hands-on automation knowledge and project coordination skills.
Ability to manage cross-functional teams including Production, Maintenance, Safety, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Lead manufacturing CAPEX and automation projects from concept to completion.
Prepare feasibility studies, project justifications, budgets and schedules.
Develop URS, technical specs, layouts and tender documents.
Design, program, troubleshoot and improve PLC, HMI, SCADA and automated control systems.
Integrate VFDs, servo motors, sensors and robots into processes.
Troubleshoot industrial networks (Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve productivity.
Manage major CAPEX projects and monitor costs and progress.
Coordinate contractors and suppliers and evaluate quotations.
Conduct FAT/SAT, commissioning and performance validation.
Ensure compliance with drawings, safety requirements and EHS procedures.
Maintain documentation including PLC backups and drawings.
Develop preventive maintenance requirements and train teams.
