We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our Group Sustainability team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will support the execution of the Group’s Sustainability and Climate Strategy with a strong emphasis on ESG and climate-related data analysis. You will play a key role in monitoring Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, evaluating sectoral decarbonization pathways, setting performance targets, and enabling ESG data-driven decision-making across the Group. Additionally, you will contribute to sustainable finance assessments, ESG risk analysis, and external disclosures.

What you will be doing
  • Lead the collation, validation, and analysis of ESG data, focusing on Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across the Group’s operations and financed activities

  • Develop and maintain ESG data models, dashboards, and tools for internal reporting and decision support

  • Support enterprise-wide ESG data architecture and taxonomy mapping to streamline reporting and disclosure (e.g., TCFD, BNM CCPT, ISSB)

  • Translate ESG data into actionable business insights, highlighting trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for emissions reduction and climate resilience

  • Act as the Group’s Centre of Excellence for sustainability and climate-related matters, providing expert advice and sharing industry insights on regulatory and policy developments

  • Track ESG KPIs, analyze trends, and prepare performance updates for Board-level committees, regulators, investors, and rating agencies

  • Support sustainable finance evaluations and impact assessments, coordinating with product teams to embed ESG risk metrics into lending and investment due diligence

  • Assist in defining Group-level sustainability KPIs and targets, driving accountability through governance forums and performance management

What we're looking for
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ working experience in sustainability management, preferably within financial services or a related sector

  • Strong technical understanding of carbon accounting (Scope 1, 2, 3), decarbonization pathways, GHG Protocol, and climate disclosure frameworks

  • Proficiency in ESG data handling tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, and ESG software platforms (e.g., Enablon, Persefoni)

  • Working knowledge of ESG reporting standards including TCFD, GRI, ISSB, BNM CCPT, and PCAF

  • Familiarity with sustainable finance principles and transition taxonomies (ASEAN, EU, ICMA)

  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—and strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage professionally with both internal and external stakeholders
