Job summary

Vinry Digital in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Senior Associate, Financial Reporting to join our consulting team servicing IPO-focused clients. You will participate in financial close activities, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and resolve accounting issues in collaboration with internal and external teams.

You will oversee month-end close, review financial reporting deliverables, strengthen controls, governance and process excellence across finance operations, while coordinating with Accounting,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification such as MIA, ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, etc. (both fully qualified and semi qualified welcomed to apply)
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ finance experience, ideally within a Financial Reporting or FP&A team
  • MFRS technical accounting expertise, and consolidation experience preferred
  • Financial and Bursa reporting experience is a plus
  • Analytical, logical thought process for developing solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Advanced Excel with extensive knowledge in utilizing advanced formulas, pivot tables and power query is an added advantage
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Flexible approach to work and evolving organizational priorities
  • Prior experience with modern accounting technology such as QBO / Xero / NetSuite / SAGE300 / PowerBI / Tableau / StoreHub relevant to this role is an added advantage
  • Experience of working in professional assignments, in a professional Firm setting is an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Support close processes for both standalone and consolidated financial reporting
  • Prepare intercompany eliminations as part of the consolidation process and other reporting needs
  • Prepare monthly (management reporting) and quarterly (regulatory reporting) financial statements to support management decision making and regulatory filings
  • Help maintain general ledger structure, including the setup of new accounts, departments, and legal entities
  • Maintain a strong controls environment and ensure accurate documentation of control processes
  • Participate in various Financial Reporting transformation initiatives
  • Coordinate between various groups including specialist consultants from other divisions (including but not limited to Accounting, FP&A, Internal Audit, Tax, Legal, Principal Adviser and Technology / Software) to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely accounting information and analysis, and the production of high‑quality financial reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to work alongside and gain the trust and respect of stakeholders at all levels of seniority and within different functions
  • Ability to work in a self-sufficient manner, operating across multiple projects and managing conflicting priorities
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality
  • Be seconded to client offices to assist in accounting process, when necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment on several projects.

Your Role

As Senior Associate, Financial Reporting, you will participate in financial close activities, ensuring deadlines are met, reports are accurate, and accounting issues are resolved promptly. You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external teams, helping to strengthen control, governance, and process excellence across all finance operations.

  • Reports to our senior executives leading the professional consulting services provided to the portfolio of IPO assignments that we advise
  • Oversee month-end close and full set of accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Review and support financial reporting and accounting, management reporting, and FP&A deliverables for assigned clients or business units.

Additional Notes

Being a position based with our consulting team, you would be working with our internal senior executives, while serving our portfolio of pre / post IPO clients. You shall be assigned to work from both our physical office (based out of KLCC / Pavilion KL area) and the clients’ office as the situation requires.
