Job summary

A leading transportation company in Malaysia is seeking a Finance professional to support the Head of Finance. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing monthly reconciliations, and assisting with audits. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial role. Job description
Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting the Head of Finance in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and producing timely and insightful financial reports.

Key Accountabilities
Financial - Monthly & Yearly Accounts Closing
  • To update Daily Cash Flow and cash balance.
  • To prepare relevant journal voucher for account closing purposes.
  • To liaise with AP and AR section and solve all problems arising (any variance issues) before accounts closing.
  • To create journal entries and ensure expenses are appropriately charged and terminated.
  • To check monthly payroll simulation report from Human Resource Department to ensure correct posting into General Ledger.
  • To check reason code for each entry done by AP & AR and prepare monthly cash flow report.
  • To prepare monthly bank reconciliation and do appropriate adjustment as needed.
  • To prepare and compile monthly audit schedules.
Financial - Statutory Accounts – financial year end
  • To provide auditors the audit schedules.
  • To assist and handle audit queries.
  • To help in preparing skeleton or draft audited accounts.
  • To liaise with the auditors for outstanding matters regarding audit issues.
Others

To perform ad-hoc tasks as and when required.

Academic / Professional Qualifications
  • Minimum qualification Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent field
  • Professional accounting qualification (such as CA or ACCA & etc.) is an advantage.
Years of Experience

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Accounting, Auditing, or Management Accounting is required.
