Senior Application Technologist (Savoury) - Your future position?

As the Senior Application Technologist (Savoury), you will develop and optimise savoury product prototypes such as sauces, noodles, and snacks using Givaudan flavours and technologies. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative, customer‑focused solutions while ensuring technical excellence, sensory quality, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will report directly to the Technical Manager and will be based in Kelana Jaya, Selangor.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execute customer and internal savoury briefs across categories like instant noodles, sauces, snacks, processed meats, and food service applications.
  • Formulate and optimise prototypes using Givaudan flavours and technologies to ensure sensory, technical, and commercial success.
  • Select, dose, and evaluate flavours, managing cost‑in‑use, application fit, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct sensory and application testing, accurately recording results and maintaining formulations in Givaudan systems.
  • Collaborate with creation, sales, and marketing teams to deliver innovative, customer‑focused savoury solutions.
  • Present and demonstrate prototypes to customers through tastings and technical discussions with Sales and the Technical Manager.
  • Uphold EH&S standards, ensuring laboratory and kitchen safety while handling ingredients and equipment.
  • Actively champion new technologies and best practices within the savoury applications team.

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant work experience in hands‑on product development or application experience.
  • Experience working in flavours, food ingredients, food‑service/QSR or food manufacturing industries.
  • Proven expertise in developing savoury projects such as sauces, instant noodles, snacks, processed meats, or food‑service applications.
  • Strong technical skills in flavour application, sensory evaluation, and formulation optimisation.
  • Additional chef or kitchen background would be advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of analytical and sensory methodologies relevant to flavour selection and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in managing data, recipes, and projects within technical or formulation systems.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for engaging with internal teams and customers.
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to showcase good project management skills.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting.
