Overview

Senior Application Engineer. Location: Malaysia. Full time. Kuala Lumpur. Posted recently. Requisition id R51370.

Our customers operate in oil and gas refining, pulp, paper and bioproducts industry, chemicals and other process industries.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Application Engineering Manager, your role will be to provide technical seminars and give product presentations to design institutes or customers. You will also need to communicate with design institutes and customers to clarify technical requirements for projects or inquiries. In practice this means you will need to approach product managers, factory sales support teams or other related departments for technical support and to provide optimized solutions according to technical requirements.

You will be responsible for gathering information, meeting required timelines, preparing quotations and bidding documents accurately and on time, and finalizing the technical part in the sales contract. You will place purchase orders to the appropriate factory on time, check order confirmations, and ensure the accuracy of order data. You will provide technical support throughout order fulfilment and to the sales team as needed.

To be successful in this role
  • Bachelor degree majoring in Automation, Mechanical Engineering or Petrochemical
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in process industry (end user, design institute, supplier)
  • Good knowledge about field instruments like valve, actuator and positioner
  • Expertise in Control Valve Sizing & Selection
  • Experience in design institutes and CRM/SRM is a plus
  • Positive attitude, highly motivated and a team player
  • Meticulous in work
  • Knowledge of International Incoterms
  • Excellent communication within & outside the firm
