Senior Application Database Administrator

Global Technology Solutions (GTS) at ResMed is a division dedicated to creating innovative, scalable, and secure platforms and services for patients, providers, and people across ResMed. The strategy of GTS focuses on aligning goals and promoting collaboration across all organizational areas. This includes fostering shared ownership, developing flexible platforms that can easily scale to meet global demands, and implementing global standards for key processes to ensure efficiency and consistency.

The primary role of the Database Management function is to design, implement and maintain Oracle Database Server and E‑Business Suite Technologies environments. The role will expand to managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and technical aspects of Oracle Cloud FUSION.

Key deliverables include providing support to application DBA tasks such as application cloning, patching, database migration/upgrades, technical solutions, performance tuning, monitoring all Oracle production database backups globally, ensuring platform security, and troubleshooting technical Oracle Applications and database issues.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure ResMed’s Oracle E‑Business Suite R12.1 systems and Oracle databases are running efficiently, incorporating event monitoring for space, fault and general resource management.
  • Ensure ResMed’s non‑Oracle applications environments are running efficiently, handling a mixture of database versions from 10g to 12g on various operating systems (Linux mandatory).
  • Perform Oracle Applications patching (ADPATCH utility) and understand Oracle patching standards (maintenance pack, family pack, patch set).
  • Participate in the 24*7*365 support roster.
  • Understand and troubleshoot workflow and advanced queuing.
  • Provide analysis of issues and determine diagnosis for Oracle Applications/Oracle RDBMS/UNIX problems (e.g., application performance problems, printing issues).
  • Troubleshoot technical Oracle Applications and database issues using Service‑Now to capture solutions.
  • Monitor all Oracle production database backups globally.
  • Perform database health checks.
  • Perform database and SQL tuning.
  • Provide guidance to junior DBAs.
  • Look for alternative processes to improve database management.
  • Collaborate with the global team to ensure issue tracking and resolution.
  • Provide DBA support in local projects as required.
  • Document and store procedures and policies in a central repository.
  • Maintain compliance with ResMed information security policies and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Oracle Administration on Unix/Linux platforms.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an Oracle Apps DBA capacity (highly preferred).
  • Experience with Oracle databases and EBS; Oracle Cloud experience is an added advantage.
  • Functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems or execute specialized projects.
  • Judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Ability to determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
