Senior Analyst, Finance Shared Services (GL) - 6 months
Assist Manager to support the Finance Shared Services (FSS) in executing all aspects of General Ledger (GL) Accounting operations, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, analysis reporting, preparation of financial statements, and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- One of GL function’s Team-leads and assist the manager on the day-to-day GL accounting operations.
- Responsible for the end-to-end monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting closing activities and ensure timely and accurate closing and reporting.
- Present and lead meetings by preparing the monthly workings and financial results to stakeholders such as DOFs and the Finance team of NTCs supported by FSS.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the assigned portfolios and able to handle multiple entities in the region with voluminous transactions involved.
- Understand local business practices for countries supported by FSS (e.g., Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Laos).
- Work with various teams and take the lead in issue resolution on IFRS 16 site-related and site rental-related matters, driving closure of identified issues.
- Guide and coach junior team members and other teams (e.g., FA, IM, AR, AP or other NTCs) in accounting knowledge, system postings, and best practices for consistency across the Group and its subsidiaries.
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including reconciliation to sub-ledger, and proactively identify and clear long-outstanding accruals with stakeholder confirmation.
- Prepare various reports or analyses for statutory and management needs (e.g., yearly financial statements).
- Perform self-inspection of work areas and ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies, procedures and authority limits.
- Support statutory audit including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit queries, and preparation of audited financial statements for Board approval and signing.
- Take lead in issue resolution on BAU operational matters and drive closure of identified issues.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures and desk procedures as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise, guide and resolve issues raised.
- Take lead and proactively participate in initiatives identified by the company.
- Drive continuous systems and process improvements.
- Other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Years of experience as a financial analyst (as applicable by the role).
- Experience with the following accounting tasks and reconciliations.
- Experience with IFRS 16 site-related accounting and site rental issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- English language skills.
