Job summary

A leading Malaysian engineering group is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the entire accounts payable function and support commercial teams. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma/Degree in accountancy or finance, with at least 3 years of experience preferably in the construction industry. Strong skills in accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required. Knowledge of SQL queries or IFCA accounting software is advantageous. This role is based in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
• Proficient in written and spoken English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
• Capability to handle a full set of accounts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the entire accounts payable function including invoice key‑in, payment arrangements, AP reconciliation and aging management, and staff claim processing.
• Liaise with the commercial and procurement teams on disputes, discrepancies and supporting documents for invoices.
• Handle daily operational matters and monthly bank reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly project summary reports and monitor project performance.
• Assist with yearly audits.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma/Degree in accountancy, finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry (advantage).
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficient in written and spoken English; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
• Experience with SQL queries or IFCA accounting software is advantageous.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, proactive attitude.
• Capability to handle a full set of accounts is a plus.
